As Microsoft’s General Manger of Surface Commercial, Ryan Gavin is responsible for making Microsoft devices the best option for businesses, focused on growing Surface share, establishing Surface Hub as the leader in a new category, and driving a fast growing unit and high gross margin business.
During his 18 years at Microsoft, Ryan has been a proven leader across some of our most important businesses, including Linux compete in the US sub, competing with Google in communication services, leading Internet Explorer and then Edge marketing, and driving the recent launches of Microsoft Rewards and Conversation as a Platform. During the last four years, Ryan been the product marketing leader for Search, Cortana, and Edge helping to bring Bing to profitability, market share to over 22%, and revenue on path to ~$3.5 billion. Ryan’s drive for results coupled with his proven leadership to work alongside our engineering and product partners make him a great fit to take our commercial endeavors to new heights.
Ryan attended Seattle Pacific University, where he received his bachelor of arts in business administration and management. He and his wife, Sarah Gavin, are the proud parents of four young children who occupy them most days, weekends and nights.
