Panos Panay’s official title is Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Devices, but at his core he’s a product guy with an eye for detail and a love of innovation. He leads the vision and strategy for Devices, which includes development, supply chain, and manufacturing of all Microsoft hardware. From Surface to Xbox and HoloLens, his team blends art, science, and unwavering pride in craftsmanship to create products that transform the way people work, create, and learn.
Since joining Microsoft in 2004, Panay has become known as a creative visionary in product development. He truly believes that great people make great products, making him proud to lead an incredible team who deliver products that are breaking barriers. Panay calls the creation of Surface the highlight of his career and an experience that continually inspires him and his team to create new categories of devices to help Microsoft customers change the world.
Prior to his time at Microsoft, Panay was responsible for the development of keyboards, speakers, and electromechanical devices at NMB Technologies.
Panay received a bachelor’s degree in science from Cal State Northridge and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He is a devoted husband and father of four. He and his family moved from Los Angeles to Seattle 13 years ago to join Microsoft. When he’s not at work, he can usually be found spending time with his family, golfing or cooking.
